It’s not easy being asleep for a hundred years right before your kingdom is taken over by a powerful evil. Not helping matters is waking up with little memory of who you are and being tasked with eradicating said evil with nothing more than the loincloth you slept in. Most would find this scenario quite intimidating, many would even abandon the challenge altogether, settling for a simple life on Lon Lon ranch, deprived of any of life’s dangers. But unfortunately for our hero Link, there was no one else stepping up to the plate to take out the consuming monstrosity that was Calamity Ganon. Link’s journey takes him to every stretch of Hyrule, from the scorching air of Death Mountain to the frozen tundra (insert here). However, despite the ever breaking weapons at his disposal, as well as the countless trials puzzles he had to endure. Link was able to triumph over all of them and even managed to regain control over two of the legendary Divine Beasts.
Currently, Link found himself wondering towards the Western end of Hyrule, the dry air and rising temperatures indicated that he was very close to the border of Gerudo Valley. The next Divine beast that he would need to reclaim was known as Vah Naboris, once operated by the former leader of the Gerudo and close ally to princess Zelda, Urbosa. All he would need to do was enter the village and speak with its leader for more information, just as he did with the previous beasts. Standing at the entrance to the village were two Gerudo guards, both women armed with a large dagger-like spear in each hand. The closer Link approached, the tighter the grip on their weapons.
“Can we help you?” Asked on of the large Gerudo guards standing firm at the entrance to the village. Link not being the most talkative Hylian was unable to address the urgent manner in which he needed to proceed. Thinking that perhaps this was just how the Gerudo greeted all their visitors, Link figured that the best course of action would be to simply walk past the guards right inside as if he too were a beautiful Gerudo woman. This walk was quickly cut short when two very sharp spears crossed the entrance into the village, the two guards gave Link a threatening glare.
“No man, is permitted into our village.” Stated the guard on Link’s left, she kept her eyes planted on the smaller man except for a microsecond when her large red ponytail brushed in her face.
“Proceed any further and the consequences will be severe.” Said the second guard. “Leave now and there won’t be any need for intervention.” The look on the guard’s face indicated that she wasn’t playing around. Though Link might have been able to fight one of them with only minor scratches, taking on two Gerudo guards was only asking for trouble. Not wanting to escalate the matter any more than it was, Link decided to turn the other way and head back towards the small oasis right outside of the entrance. The strong wind which had been blowing behind him was now pressing against his walk, as if forcing him back on the track of his journey, rough sand blowing in his face.

The Gerudo And Their Very Fat Hero, A BOTW story
Even though he was a voe (a man) and not a vai (a woman), the Hylian hero Link became very popular with the Gerudo women after he had saved their city from the terror of the Divine Beast Vah Naboris. However, the Gerudo women were not very familiar on how to deal with men OR Hylians. They intentionally forbid men from entering their city, so they rarely interacted with men outside of breeding purposes, and thus many Gerudo did not know how man acted or what they liked. At best, they knew that men liked to eat even more than women did, so they relied on food as their main source of entertainment for the hero. As for not knowing how to deal with Hylians, the Gerudo people had been secluded for so long, they would have had no idea that their unique brand of cooking could be considered very 'rich', 'heavy', and 'fattening' for Hylians. "Bwrrrruuuuurrrp." Link placed another dirty plate off onto the table to his left, having it join with all of the others, and he leaned back

"Link just stop following me already!" Said the dismayed princess.
Link as silent as ever shakes his head, indicating that he won't leave her alone.
Zelda sighed and decided to focus on moving towards Gerudo town. (The place she would get away from Link, as males aren't allowed in the city). The duo arrive at Gerudo town and are greeted by the Gerudo Chief, Urbosa.
"Hello you two! Link I know how much you don't like not being able to come in, but you do know she is safe with me." Link gives a disheartened grunt and walks to the side of the entrance gate and builds himself a fire to sit by. Meanwhile, Zelda and Urbosa are talking about Link.

Legend of Zelda: The Massive Hero of Time
As the Hyrule castle was rebuilt, in gratitude for my service in protecting the lands. Princess Zelda had granted me a home within the castle walls for as long as I lived. Staying with the royal family at no cost and given all the amenities of the kind of living that goes with it. It was all a wonderful reward for all the hardships. Dining on the most beautiful cuisine the royal family’s chefs could concoct. Further training to hone my blade skills through the army and its many soldiers.
In exchange I did have to dress in proper attire from time to time. Attending dinners or parties, with leaders of different lands and people.
